Getting And Staying Motivated

We all need a little motivation.
One of the hardest life challenges has to be motivating yourself. It may be fairly easy to stay motivated for a short period of time, but to stay that way for a long period of time requires a lot more work.
One thing that you can do to help you to be successful is to list out the goals that you have and decide which ones are the most important ones to do. Goals that you think that you need to do but are unimportant may be able to be pushed aside. Also try to keep these goals small and simple. Break up large tasks into many smaller more manageable jobs that can each be quickly done. You'll feel like you are doing something and get the large task done at the same time.
If you feel that you need some kind of motivation to do something, research has shown that if you keep doing something for at least three weeks it will end up being just habit. Once something becomes habit and part of your regular day, motivation will no longer be as much of an issue. Avoid procrastination in this way as well will help you. Do it and don't think about it. That's how to get motivated!
Sometimes even doing small things for yourself after doing something that you need to do will help with motivation. If you reward yourself with things you like after doing needed things that you don't like, it will make doing those things a lot easier.
Sometimes the reason why people sometimes are not motivated to do something is because that they may be worried that they will not succeed in what they have to do. It helps to learn as much as you can about what you need to do and things that you need to do will come a lot easier. It also helps to seek help from others who know more about the task to help you out as well.
There are many different reason to motivate yourself. Some people want to stay motivated to lose weight, others want to reach certain goals in sports.
The main one that we will focus on is the motivation to lose weight. We all know how society views people that are overweight and if you are struggling with your own motivation to lose the weight, you know how this can feel.
There are so many fads out there designed to help you lose weight but really the only plan you need is to stay motivated to do this. And this does not only apply to your weight...it is also other things that you want or need to do. Motivation is always the key.
The funny thing is that sometimes people aren't motivating themselves because they may feel selfish in doing so. People defintely should not feel this way. Working on yourself and your own well being will never be a selfish thing.....sure, you may say that it is but everyone has to take some time for just themselves and do what they need to do. And yes, that means you too!
The more that you motivate yourself to do things, the easier that you will find things to be. Not only that, you will begin to see things that you are dong that you never thought that you would be able to achieve. The possibilities are really endless unless you put an end to your own possibilities.
Training your mind to stop procrastinating will condition yourself to always stay motivated in all the things that you need and want to do. This also means that you need to expect more from yourself without being too hard on yourself at the same time.

tommygg - you are so right, i have always had a problem with motivation and decided to reward myself for small accomplishments with 3 cigarettes and a couple quick shots of jack daniels!
